A lovely place to visit with good amenities. The parking spots are wide enough to allow a good setup for a weekend stay but not much longer. The falls, when running lend a coolness to the area that allows for a few degrees drop compared to the hotter surrounding area. The paths are not long and are clearly marked, but are quite steep and have no guardrails on the cliff edges in some places. Highly recommend you have a good sense of balance if you intend to go along the tracks. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and would like to soak up some beautiful nature.
Great views and good short hike down to the water
Worth a drive when in the Kilkivan area.
3 lookouts.
1st is easy, second is steep and the last is the steepest.
At the parking area which is a short stay camping spot under trees there is an easy short cut back from the track between lookouts.
Comes out opposite the toilets at the turnaround on parking area.
Nice little place and probably nice as a camp site. However, the waterfall was super disappointing. Just a trickle, despite the heavy rains not too far away.
Amazing place, water is refreshing, it’s a nice long walk down, the place is beautiful, despite the fact the stairs near the end isn’t their it’s fun to walk down and climb the rocks, and if you climb the right rock you can find a good spot to dive. This place is very clean, and I recommend coming.
Good overnight camping spot. Tables, chairs, fire pits & clean flushing toilets. Hike down to falls is 250 steps (stairs) so moderate fitness required - not for anyone with knee or hip problems.
Great place for a day trip or the max 72 hrs stay. clean amenities & if you are lucky enough there can be free wood for your fire. There a few different tracks to take, however to see the falls, the walk is not that long or hard.
Can be a bit boggy when rained, overall the ground is good
Free camping a stone throw away from a mighty fall, best ever. Kinbombi Falls campground is a free 72 hour free camp . It has a medium sized camp with lots of spots seperated by big wooden trunks. The road to the camp is a narrow comfortable one size vehicle road, so take caution when you come across another car heading the other direction as you need to scoot over to the side of the road and both give way. The road also is the same access these big brown cows take to pasture, drive slow and admire the cows admiring you in close proximity, it's cool to watch. The ground on the camp is mostly hard dirt, there are lots of dried leaves and branches, great for the designated bonfires when allowed on season. The path around the camp is also narrow and winding but manageable. There is a toilet block with 2 unisex toilets. One is a disabled with a sink inside which is bigger than the other. And the other is a unisex a little smaller with a sink outside. Toilet paper is provided but no soap, so bring your own. Rain water tank for plumbing.Tge toilet block is the only source light from the camp hence there will be bugs attracted to it, other than that it pretty clean. Bins are provided next to the toilet block. Unfortunately, there are no water taps to fill up so make sure you stock up before coming. The cap is surrounded by big trees, you can hear the waterfall from camp however because of the tree you can't see it. Next to no flies, mostly moths around. Generators allowed. The trail to the falls are labelled well, there are 3 trails and look outs. First trail being the easiest and then 2nd becoming a little hard until the 3rd which is steeper. Not often will you have a free camp with a toilet next to a majestic falls. Thank you Kinbombi for your hospitality.Camp is Wheelchair accessible, trek to falls is not.
